We offer a Post-Graduate program for international high school graduates who wish to apply to an American University. During this year we provide rigorous training in Leadership, Science, Technology, Math, ESL, and Athletics for students who actively seek to be Set Apart for Excellence in a uniquely structured setting.
New York Military Academy has carefully designed a year of achievement and growth in a structured, positive, and student-centered learning environment. This program is focused on serving diligent, hard-working students who are looking for personal growth and more activities than typical boarding school classes can provide. Boarding and day students are welcome. Academic classes can provide college credit and are integrated with activities/outdoor engagement.
Leadership — NYMA prides itself on its Leadership Lab which educates adolescents to lead themselves and then others through authentic experiences in nature, the classroom, and professional projects.
Science and Math — We practice a fun, integrated experiential approach to Math and Science education with high expectations of accomplishment. Post-Graduate students can earn college credit through the State University of New York.
College Prep — We assist students in all aspects of preparing to enter college including test prep, college visits, and application advice.
Arts Studios — Art classes cater to students’ interests in which they engage in uniquely American art projects. These projects drive English instruction through productions which are performed for classmates on stage or publicly displayed.
English as Second Language (ESL) — To get the most out of an American University experience, it is first necessary to master not only standard ESL curriculum, but also the deep academic vocabulary necessary for classroom success.
Sports — Tennis on our courts, swimming in our pools, baseball on our fields, and a variety of other American sports are part of the NYMA experience.
- The perfect combination of academic courses, exposure to American culture, good food, and sports activities ensures a memorable experience and the building of a strong body and a resourceful mind.
