Interfaith Candlelight Service

The Interfaith Candlelight Service is a traditional NYMA event that dates back more than a hundred years and brings the Corps of Cadets, faculty and staff, and parents together to mark the holidays in a way that celebrates the diversity on our campus.

The program yesterday evening included readings from Christian, Hebrew, Kwanzaa, and Muslim texts calling for peace on earth. In addition to the candle-lighting, we also sang traditional American Christmas carols including a beautiful rendition of “Man in the Mirror” sung by Cadet Noel Maldonado…

Memorial Day 2018

On Monday, May 28th, NYMA Cadets marched in the Cornwall Memorial Day Parade and were cheered on by supportive spectators along the way. Following the parade, the Corps honored and remembered the fallen with their Color Guard’s presence and a 21-gun salute that accompanied the town’s memorial service.

Halloween Fun at NYMA!

Last weekend’s Halloween party was attended by many cadets hungry for horror and treats! The students looked fantastic in their costumes and several of the teachers and their children made guest appearances. Later, cadets enjoyed the classic horror film, Poltergeist.

The cadets’ trip to the Corn Estate in Cornwall-on-Hudson last weekend was fantastically scary. We are happy to report that two busloads of cadets arrived safely back on campus after being frightened by local ghouls.

Most of the teachers and students wore costumes to class on Halloween. Much fun was had by all and the Mess Hall really outdid themselves at lunch with specially decorated cupcakes.
