NYMA at a Glance

History:  Founded as a school for boys in 1889, NYMA has been coeducational since 1975.

Campus: 120 acres, with full range of academic, athletic and dormitory facilities, approximately 55 miles north of New York City.

Alumni: 6,650 graduates since 1889.

Grades: 7-12

Enrollment: 146

Student Body: Represents 12 states and 14 countries. Females comprise 18% of the Corps of Cadets.

Student Ethnic Diversity: 24% African-American or Black; 12% Asian; 56% Caucasian; 8% Hispanic.

Faculty: 22

Student/Teacher Ratio: 15:1

College Matriculation: 100% college acceptance.

Technology: Entire campus wired for Internet access; wireless hotspot plus 12 computer workstations and 13-workstation computer lab in library; 15-workstation computer lab in main academic building; two small computer labs in dorms.  

Athletics: 17 varsity, two junior varsity and one modified sports including baseball, boys basketball, girls basketball, cross country, drill team, football, golf, lacrosse, raiders, rifle, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track, volleyball and wrestling.  

Governance: 10-member Board of Trustees, presided over by Paul J. Curtin, Jr. '67, Syracuse, NY.
